So-called moderate Republicans sold the nation out this week, to please our mentally failing would-be dictator
The Republicans in the U.S. Senate have now voted near-unanimously to confirm the two most dangerous Cabinet nominees in history — Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence, and the clearly deranged Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as head of Health and Human Services. Gabbard is clearly sympathetic to our nation’s enemies, and Kennedy’s mad policies will endanger the lives of millions, especially children.
The only Republican Senator to vote against them was the utterly wretched and contemptible Mitch McConnell, now no longer majority leader. For years, he tried to sabotage everything President Obama tried to do, then made Donald Trump’s horrors possible, licking his boots even when Trump kicked him in the face. A word from him in January 2021, and the twice-impeached Trump would have been convicted and barred from the Presidency forever.
Do not, ever again, say that creatures like Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski are “moderates.” Yes, they cast meaningless votes against the confirmation of the worst Secretary of Defense in history, but that was made meaningless by their votes for Gabbard.
They knew better, unlike the pure morons like Tommy Tuberville. Yet they sold our country out — and for what? So Trump might be nice to them? Collins will be 73 this year. Is committing what is de facto treason against our nation worth it so you don’t have to worry about a primary opponent next year? Maine is a blue state, and hopefully the voters will do the right thing if she runs again.
If we survive somehow, we must never forgive these people, ever. Nor must we ever forget, and we must never allow this to happen again.

And what about our own Democrats, Peters and Slotkin, voting to confirm Noem? What were they thinking? No profiles in courage there.
I, too, have been scratching my head, trying to figure out exactly what the Rs are getting out of this. But such are the workings of a cult, evidently, and they have all signed on and are marching, lemming-like, off the cliff. It isn't the respect of rest of the world. It isn't that many of them have served under a normal Republican president (q.v. George H.W. Bush) and can't recognize what an aberration the Felon is. Is it money--have they all been bought off by Elon? (Certainly possible) How can they not grasp the chaos and destruction happening on their watch? I suppose we'll have to wait until it gets really bad and constituents start getting hurt or even dying.
