Oh, Canada, Hooray!
Canadians give Trump the finger by electing a Liberal government
I have spent a fair amount of time in Canada and many years ago, occasionally covered Canadian politics in Ottawa. Canada is not without flaws, but is a generally more civilized country than we are, and overall, I think,
its people are happier and live better lives.
The United States and Canada have been the closest of friends and allies for more than a century, or, that is, were best of friends and allies, until that was smashed by Donald Trump, who seems intent on destroying or turning to merde everything he touches.
On New Year’s Day, I wouldn’t have bet a beaver nickel that the Liberals would win yesterday’s election. They instead seemed headed for a historic landslide defeat, even after the despised Justin Trudeau stepped down, to be replaced by the colorless Mark Carney. But instead they won, convincingly.
Why?
Donald Trump, naturally. The Liberals courageously denounced our embarrassing excuse for a President, while the Conservatives, led by Pierre Poilievre, played footsie with him and lost badly. So badly, that Poilievre lost his own seat in Parliament! The smaller parties, notably the NDP and the Bloc Quebecois, were almost wiped out, as voters wanted to make sure there was no mistake about where they stood.
There’s no mystery about why the election turned out as it did: The Liberals stood up to Trump and told him to stuff his tariffs and his “51st state” garbage, while the Conservatives appeared to be trying to play footsie with him. Trump helped seal the deal yesterday with an incoherent social media post that appeared to suggest Canadians vote for him!
I have never admired Canada more. You can bet that at least for the next four years, you’ll see a parade of international elections in which the winners will be the parties and candidates who utter the loudest denunciations of the mentally ill monster that Americans have disgraced themselves and this nation, possibly forever, by electing.

So with all the talk about Making America Healthy Again let's further discuss making Canada the 51st State as long as we bring their Health Care System with them and provide it to all. Do you think when Trump said he had concepts when asked about replacing Obama Care that is what he really had in mind? Greenland has good health care too. This might be something to to further discuss.
Even with all the cash Trump is raising for all his quasi legal enterprises, the guy with the guts won, not the Trump endorsement. This gives hope to America.
