Partying Like It's 1929
The Economy: Donald Trump can rightly say: "only I could wreck it."
The Dow-Jones indicator of stock market averages fell nearly four thousand points Thursday and Friday, in response to Donald Trump’s insane trade war he touched off by crippling tariffs, wiping out $6.6 TRILLION dollars of wealth in two days, and indications are that today may be even more devastating
We will soon be in a recession, or worse. Your retirement savings, and mine, are fast disappearing, Your job may be too. And this was utterly unnecessary, caused for no reason by our ignorant smirking marmalade maniac, and the gutless cowards in the Republican Party who are doing nothing to stop it.
Our economy was the strongest in the world five months ago. By the way, Kamala Harris told us this was going to happen. She made a rare appearance yesterday to say “I’m not here to say I told you so,” though she indeed had.
So, by the way, did Donald Trump. He said he was going to impose these tariffs, which is why Harris knew what was coming. But the experts all assumed he was lying again, and his voters thought tariffs were a headband World Wide Wrestling contestants wore.
Now we are in a world of hurt, and it will only get worse and worse. I dislike hyperbole and unnecessary profanity in print, and I would say to anyone who voted for Trump, “god damn you to hell for doing this to us and your country and the world. How is your racism and fear of transgendered kids working out for you?” They will see, very soon. Their manipulators will tell them it’s Joe Biden’s fault.
Eventually, some dull realization is likely to set in.
Trump is, among other things, stupid and insane. But I would save my strongest hatred for those who know better, and are doing nothing to stop this. The past resonates in different patterns. This time, we may get 1929 revisited before 1917.
And unlike the gracious and classy Ms. Harris, if I am alive I will indeed say, “We all told you so.” She may have some sympathy and compassion for them
I will not.

I will not, either.
True, these Republicans are gutless, greedy cowards. Watching them sell their souls for power and profit isn’t just infuriating — it’s grotesque. They know exactly what they’re doing and they do it anyway. And yes, money must be torn out of politics root and stem. What kind of democracy lets billionaires pull the strings while the rest of us watch our futures evaporate?
