People who haven't lived this don't understand. When your beautiful child is depressed and anxious despite meds and therapy, they cannot be consoled, and when they finally tell you why, you Google. You read the suicide statistics. I find parents become fiercely protective of their child of any age.
I am beyond disgusted that trans folks have been thrown under the bus by politicians. Trans folks are among the most vulnerable already. Particularly in public restrooms. Making them out to be the bad guy? Reprehensible.
For the life of me I cannot understand why some people care about what others have in their pants. I know four wonderful young people who are currently living as a different gender than the one they were assigned at birth. They are living their lives in the manner that makes them happiest and not harming anyone else by doing so. I sometimes think that those who attack others for doing what makes them happy are actually the unhappiest people of all.
