I too have a dream. That someday there will be a President that restores

honor to the White House.

Jack, I’ve always liked Jesse Jackson. The primary reason is that in the mid-1970s, I was a junior his school teacher in Detroit. My students in the nearly 100% African American schools were wonderful. Some were innocent kids, some sexually active and some on their way to the dark side. Then, one day on the news Jesse Jackson received coverage on his speech that all of my students should have heard. I’ve always referred to it as the “I am a man speech.” Jesse told his audience of students that you’re not a man because got a woman pregnant. Instead, you’re only a man when you provide, care for and nurture that child. I know I butchered my description of the speech, but that’s when I started taking Jesse seriously. He was a good man.
