The Brutal Truth

We have met the enemy, and put him in power

We all need to be very clear about this: Donald Trump and his creatures are destroying the United States of America. Whether he is controlling people like Elon Musk and Steven Miller, or they are controlling him, this much is clear:

They are destroying us. No declared enemy could be doing a faster or more permanent job, as least without nuclear weapons. They mean to wreck the social safety net gradually constructed over more than a century. They are ruining the economy and the environment; making us unsafe in many different ways, and are shattering the system of alliances that has prevented a third world war.

However bad you may think this is, it’s actually worse. They are not even making any attempt to hide what they are doing, not at all.

This is the worst thing to happen to us and our nation; worse than the Red Scare, than the Civil War, than the Great Depression. Those things could be recovered from, even if they left scars. I’m not at all sure we can recover from this, though we must try.

We have no choice but to resist these MAGA maniacs at every turn, no matter what. There can be no compromise, no accommodation with these bastards, and no sympathy for the millions of fools who still support him. You have to call them out, speak truth to insanity, and do your best to bear witness. We can not tolerate this evil craziness even in our own families.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is indeed real: It consists of being so willfully stupid that you refuse to recognize that this repulsive monster and his forces are wrecking everything good and beautiful about our country. They aren’t doing it in secret, either.

We have to do everything we can to resist this, everywhere. This is not an ordinary administration with some bad, some good policies, as some Democrats are pretending.

This is nothing we’ve ever seen before; this is pure vindictive evil in power. The evidence is overwhelming; we all must decide which side we are on.

In fact, if you still really are undecided, that says something very deeply troubling about you.
