It's the reactionary right wing movement that put him into power that concerns me the most. It began when Trump claimed Obama wasn't an American citizen, thereby taking leadership of the movement. The best hope we have now is that their own arrogance and ignorance will be such that the counter movement will arise and defeat them at the polls--this is democracies greatest test since the beginning. The really scary part is that it is all taking place at a time of great prosperity. Imagine if it wasn't.
Twixt fear and FEAR, I am haunted by 50+ year old activists' apparently memorable protest phrases. Now more than ever, " You are either on or off the bus!", Firesign Theater?
Sad to say you are absolutely correct! Each new day brings a new affront, a new horrifying story about which violations of our constitutional freedoms are occurring, which departments are being gutted…Thank you for sharing your thoughts here!

"Yo, Bob! When you're on a ski slope, hear someone screaming behind you, you look back and see an inexperienced skier barreling down the hill at break neck speed totally out of control, whadayagonnado? Scream back?! Hell no! You're gonna make sure you don't get hit and get hurt by moving to the side as quick as you can, and wish the poor fool luck getting to the bottom without getting hurt too awful bad, but you know he will. And calculate that he rightly deserves it for getting on the more challenging slope. Are you getting my drift? Hahahaha"
He hasn't commented back, of course.
I have to agree, we are facing dangers never before experienced. The one thing to keep in mind is, the 2 million plus which this time decided to go against Harris, are getting a mouthful of salt water, and are likely going to "referendum" the next election cycle. Already they're exhibiting "buyers remorse," and will take that "piece of crap" back to the store and demand a refund. Patience, my good sir.
And if he decides to call off the 2026 election, what shall we do? He has already violated the Constitution and ignored the judges. What will stop him?
I will try to be brief. Try . . . He came to office the same as he did in 2016 by voters voting for many different candidates (3 million+ votes went in that direction in 2024) or did not vote. In 2024, ~147 million people voted. In 2020, 158 million people voted. Sleepy Joe got ~81 million votes in 2020 and Kamala received ~70 million votes in 2024.
147 million people voted in 2024. In 2020 158 million people voted. Trump received maybe 150,000 more votes in 2024 than in 2020. People voted by either voting for other candidates or by not voting.
We came out of one of the worst economic crisis ever pre-2024, We had a good economy in 2024 and the inflation we see now would have gradually decreased. So what is it? We already had a president of color. So why not Kamala, She put Trump on the spot during the debate. Trump did not want more of that in another debate so he said no to another debate. He looked bad and was taken to task by a woman of color.
Why don't we like a woman as the president? Twice now we have rejected very astute, capable women of character who were more capable and caring than the present predicament.
The numbers are all there. It seems like we should have a voting law to get people to the polls. The results we had in 2024 should not have happened. There was no mandate for this president.
I basically agree with your overall conclusion, but you need to do better research You were looking at incomplete returns. Actually, slightly more than 155 million voted. Trump got 77.3 million votes, 3.1 million more than in 2020. Harris got 75 million, 6.2 million fewer . Three milllion voted for third party candidates, mainly RFK Jr., the Greens and Libertarians. Those votes did not in any way affect the outcome. Those who voted, sadly, wanted Trump

See Germany, 1933
Thank you Jack. Just sitting here waiting on a leader is driving me nuts…😳
You are not alone. But we may have to be our own leaders - actually, I'm sure of that!

Sounds like it!

we must. And the Supreme Court will
Whatever it takes, we must all stand up to this Evil. To face fear head on and to challenge it, not later, but now! There’s no time to wait.
